Oʻahu We invite you to an immersive experience of global art and culture through an Island perspective. A vital part of Hawai‘i's cultural landscape, the Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA) is a unique gathering place where art, community and education converge in the heart of Honolulu. In addition to an internationally renowned permanent collection, the Museum houses innovative exhibitions, an art school, the city’s only art house theater, two cafés and a museum shop within two iconic buildings.
Its collection of more than 55,000 works spans 5,000 years and includes art by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, Lee Bontecou, Nick Cave, Kara Walker, and John Singer Sargent. HoMA is also the place to see the arts of Hawai‘i—traditional art, art about the islands, and contemporary art by Native Hawaiian and local artists.
On Fridays the museum is open until 9pm—after exploring the galleries and selfie-ready outdoor courtyards (including a koi pond and tranquil fountain), visitors can enjoy live music, dinner in the HoMA Café, art activities and a film or art talk in the Doris Duke Theatre. It’s a great way to experience local life—you won’t want to miss it when visiting O‘ahu.
Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday 10 am to 6 pm; Friday 10 am to 9 pm. $25 general admission; all youth 18 and under free. See our website for more details.
