Copper Bar

There are many analogies one could make about all that transpired to create Copper Bar. Long an iconic gathering place at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, it was important during a 2015 renovation that designers incorporate elements of Copper Bar's storied past while launching new traditions for the future. Notable design elements included restoration of the skylights connecting Copper Bar to light penetrating from the lobby level, reuse of the copper plate from the original bar to the new back bar and reuse of the marine rope as a new art-like wall feature. Solomon Eno's triptych, "Kauna'oa," was commissioned to continue the legacy of art work at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Copper Bar is a place to gather with friends and family to enjoy creative, casual cuisine based on abundance and sharing along with crafted cocktails, beers and wine. Of course, the centerpiece was and remains sweeping views of Kauna'oa Bay that have beckoned travelers for decades.
