Paradise Helicopters is a locally-owned and operated helicopter tour company offering air adventures departing from Kona and Hilo on the b Big Island, and from Kapolei and Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu. Whether you dream of doors-off tours over Kilauea volcano, descending into a Kona coffee farm or soaring over green sand beaches, our helicopter tours, exclusive landings, air and land adventures and custom charters are crafted to immerse our guests in the awe-inspiring natural beauty of Hawaii and to create memories that will last a lifetime. Here are a few of our featured tours departing from Hawai‘i Island: KONA: CIRCLE ISLAND EXPERIENCE Hawai‘i Island really is a “Big Island” and you want to see it all! Why spend your whole vacation in the car, when you can get the lay of the land by air? Paradise’s Circle Island Experience is the only helicopter tour in Hawai'i that ventures south to encompass the entire island, and it does so in just over two hours! You’ll be amazed by our exclusive views of Mauna Loa, Punalu'u and Papakolea – one of only four green sand beaches in the world! Next, explore the lava flow activity at Kilauea crater and, if Madame Pele is willing, catch a glimpse of the molten heart of Hawai'i in the form of red, hot lava. Then, turn to the east, the island’s lush windward side and Hilo town. Notice how now water flows where lava once did, gushing out of sheer cliffs through lava tubes, creating hundreds of waterfalls, and nourishing the rich vegetation. The grandeur of the Kohala valleys and waterfalls of the north are sure to catch your breath, as are the white sand beaches on your return to Kona. KONA: THE SUNSET EXPERIENCE The Sunset Experience is the perfect way to cap off a day in paradise. You’ll find gorgeous beaches tucked away below lava fields along the Kona and Kohala Coasts. Next, you’ll venture to the far side of the Kohala Mountains, where a secluded and nearly inaccessible series of valleys awaits. Next, crest Mauna Loa, the world’s largest volcano, most recently active just 30 years ago. With the sun now behind the mountain, you’ll be able to better spot the glowing lava, as well as the magma lake within Halema'uma'u Crater. You’ll see Punalu'u black sand beach and Papakolea green sand beach and pass over Pu'uhonua 'o Honaunau and Kealakekua Bay. BIG ISLAND / WAIMEA: DOORS-OFF KOHALA VALLEYS & WATERFALLS WITH REMOTE HIKE The Doors-Off Kohala Waterfalls & Remote Hike is the first and only doors-off helicopter tour deep into the heart of the spectacular Kohala valleys. There is no better way to experience and learn about the geography, history and incomparable lush beauty of Kohala, birthplace of King Kamehameha, than our doors-off tour. Once you are in these valleys, your camera will be the only thing between you and the towering 2500’ waterfalls and sheer cliff faces – talk about epic social media posts! Mid-flight your aircraft will touch down at a remote location deep in Kohala Mountains to explore and enjoy a moderate 0.5 mile pilot-led hike through a waiwi forest. The meandering trail immerses you in the flora and fauna of Kohala and surprises you with a dramatic coastline vista, offering views of the Mokupuku island formations and waves crashing along the rugged north shore of Hawai'i Island. All the while you will learn about the culture and diverse natural habitat of this untouched serene location that most people never see. After your refreshing hike, take to the air again, to view the drastic landscape change from windward to leeward, and the world-famous white and black sand beaches and resorts of the Kohala Coast en route to back to Kona.
