Kualoa Ranch Private Nature Reserve

What: Ranch and private nature reserve, also known as "Jurassic Valley"
Where: Kāneʻohe, Oʻahu (24 miles outside of Waikīkī)
When: Open 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., 7 days a week except New Year’s Day and Christmas

Established in 1850, Kualoa is a 4,000-acre private nature reserve as well as a working cattle ranch with more than 600 head of cattle, 120 horses, 200 pigs and 100 sheep. From its rich agricultural lands grow cacao, banana, papaya and breadfruit, and the aquaculture operations at Kualoa include oyster and shrimp farms. The vast terrain varies from steep mountain cliffs to lush Hawaiian rainforest to open valleys. 

Kualoa’s vision has and continues to be to protect and enhance the natural beauty of these lands while developing sustainable recreational and agricultural entities that are compatible with the environment. Since the 1970s these sacred lands have maintained two listings on the US Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places.

This special place is truly an explorer’s paradise with outdoor recreation and adventure at every turn. Join a guided tour with various methods of transportation, including ATV and Raptor UTV, zipline, e-mountain bike, trolley, bus, horseback, kayak, Jeep, catamaran, or just a simple walk or hike through this amazing reserve!

While you're here, you might notice some views look familiar. That's because Kualoa has been the backdrop for film and TV productions such as Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, 50 First Dates, Lost and Hawaiʻi Five-O, just to name a few. Enjoy an extremely popular tour of these iconic sites during your visit.
