Oʻahu Accommodations
Oʻahu offers a taste of everything Hawaiʻi has to offer, including a spectrum of places to stay. You’ll find five-star resorts with lots of onsite amenities as well as smaller hotels, condos and rentals with a more local feel. Depending on your budget and the adventures you want to have on Oʻahu, it’s easy to find just the right accommodations to fit your trip.
The majority of Oʻahu's accommodations are in Waikīkī. This vibrant Honolulu neighborhood is located in the heart of great shopping and beautiful beaches. It also offers visitors the most lodging choices, including wallet-friendly options like Waikīkī Beachside Hostel and well-established beachfront resorts with deluxe ocean views like The Royal Hawaiian, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikīkī and Outrigger Reef Beach Resort Waikīkī. Waikīkī also has some newer boutique hotel options, including the Modern Honolulu, that offer luxury in a more intimate atmosphere.
Beyond Waikīkī, you’ll find another luxury resort in east Honolulu (The Kāhala Hotel & Resort), one on the North Shore (Turtle Bay Resort) and two on the Leeward Coast in the Kō Olina Resort area (Four Seasons Oʻahu and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa).
Camping is a low-cost possibility at specified locations five days a week, from 8 a.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Some campsites are only open during weekends, and other sites are only open or closed during specific times of year. Find out more information on permits and open campsites by contacting Oʻahu Department of Parks and Recreation or Hawaiʻi State Parks.
Note: Apartments, condominiums and homes are eligible to operate as short-term rentals if they are located in areas zoned for such use and/or they have obtained the required authorization(s) from the State of Hawaiʻi and/or the relevant County. It is recommended that before booking a property, you confirm with the owner or manager that the property is operating in compliance with all applicable laws.
