Mālama ʻĀina | Go Hawaii

Mālama ʻĀina

Visit the Waikōloa Dry Forest Preserve and volunteer your time and energy to mālama ʻāina and help restore one of Hawaiʻi's rarest ecosystems. Mālama ʻĀina volunteer days will be offered on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Volunteer workdays run from 8am-12pm and groups of up to 40 volunteers can be accommodated on these work days, and activities will be determined by need, time of year, and weather. Volunteers will assist in building trails, clearing weeds, planting trees, collecting native seeds, and propagating the plants that will grow into our future forests. WDFI will provide hand tools, gloves, safety equipment, water, and refreshments each day. Participants should come prepared with sturdy shoes, sun protection, and a refillable water bottle.
