E Kanikapila Kakou 2023, Week 8: Makaha Sons, LIVE!
Jerome Koko, Kimo Artis, and Hanale Kaanapu, winners of numerous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, join us for an evening of music which is deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture. They are a cornerstone of the legacy of Hawaiian music. You won't want to miss them! E Kanikapila Kakou 2023 celebrates the music, hula and stories of Hawaii with focus on Kauai. The doors open at 5:00 pm; most nights will have an ukulele/hula hour; the main program begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Tickets are available at the door or on Eventbrite, ekk2023.eventbrite.com. general admission is $20 and kamaaina is $10; children and youth 12 years and younger are free to the EKK events.
The Garden Island Arts Council presents E Kanikapila Kakou 2023 as a Community Enrichment program made possible with funding support from the Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) and the Hawai'i Tourism Authority (HTA) with support services from the Kaua'i Visitors Bureau (KVB). Celebrating Forty (40) Years of bringing to Kaua'i audiences, kama'aina and malihini alike, the very best of Hawaiian music and culture, GIAC acknowledges the tremendous and continuous support that makes this program possible.
