Experience Hawaii through award-winning student artwork! Free admission. Young Artists of Hawaii is an annual student art competition and exhibition on the theme "My Culture, My Family, and Me." Presented by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the Hawaii Tourism Authority, this program recognizes creative excellence among Hawaii’s public and private school students, Kindergarten through sixth grade. A panel of judges select 96 works for the exhibition, which is presented at the Hawaii State Art Museum in downtown Honolulu. Replicas of the artworks are also displayed at the Hawaii Convention Center for one year (May 2021 – March 2022), in the Pa Kamalii Courtyard on the third floor. The Hawaii State Art Museum is open Monday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed on Sunday and on Monday May 31 (Memorial Day) and Friday June 11 (King Kamehameha Day).
